And, we all know what lead does to people.
We do, but they don't
I'm sure there's lots of crafts/work/hobbies where people end up ingesting nasty stuff due to not washing up afterward, but lead is not one you want to mess around with.
I had no idea this was a thing. I bought a shotgun a few months back, but have never fired it. I've thoroughly cleaned it and I've handled firearms before. I do need to take it out to shoot a few rounds just so I'm familiar with the weapon, as it's only intended for home defense.
Sounds like a personal preference. I wash up after shooting and don't really care if my mates don't.
Lol all the journal reported was that gun owners report they use lead ammunition. Doesnt say what the exposure risk is if any. I mean they dont even go over the points where exposure from the lead bullet is evident. I mean firing a gun you dont even touch the lead cu its in the brass or plastic (slugs) shell. I could see lead being present in the air following a shot but its not oike youre shooting indoors in most cases so dont shoot into the wind maybe.
The obvious point of conversation i wouldve expected them to look into isnt the firing of lead ammunition, itd be cleaning the gun after shooting but without ever reading or hearing of this ive always used cuz i was taught by older rednecks, to wear rubber gloves cleaning your gun. Prevents skin oils from getting on gun and keeps your hands clean from oil and cleaner used.
Id be more worried about the lead in radiators, old paint and untested soil you dont know but is contaminated with lead.
