Unfortunately I don't think mine believes this.
I put the bags in the corner of the kitchen and he forgets I left to buy them. He seems to think it's just magic whenever I grab them and open them to refill his bowl.

Cats think we are as surprised as they are.
On the other hand cats will bring you mice out of pity for the hairless long cat which never managed to hunt living prey.
We don't even hunt but we do scavenge as far as the cat knows. Most days we go out all day and return empty-handed. Some days we go out and return with two weeks' worth of canned cat food. So we're inconsistent but when we succeed we succeed big time.
that's like the entirety of homo sapiens
It looks like Miriam took her pills today and feels completely normal.
