Moderators of Ukraine sub caught engaging in mass censorship
At the time of my posting this, they haven't had time yet to respond. This post is the backup thread so if they remove the call out people will be able to observe it.
Let's see what they say before we freak out too much. But we'll make another thread that will really take off if they really stick their foot in their mouth.
Content of the thread posted to their sub:
Title: Comment removed even though it was generally liked and didn't violate any rules

The comment basically said that militaries generally find out that invasion ends up being more expensive than their initial estimates. And that the nature of defense industry having political connections in most countries means that there is an incentive to not learn the lesson.
I also noticed that the "new comments" count is -6. We likely need to consider the offset of actual new comments. So the moderator went on a comment removal spree of any comment they saw as inconvenient.
The question is why he would see a comment about invasion being a frequent blunder as inconvenient or undesirable? Why is that so triggering for the moderator?
I wonder what other absurd removals exist in this mass censorship.
Do yourself a favor. Don't be a reddit mod.
I'm going to post this to at least one other place. So if you remove this discussion it will be observed and discussed at significantly more scale.
This thread functions as the secondary thread.
I pre-wrote this thread ahead of posting that one so that I could be fast at getting a second thread up immediately after. So I'm just now getting the link to the main thread.

Edit 2: I had to remove a section because I realized I inadvertently broke a rule here, explaining my estimate of their motivation. Apparently I shouldn't do that so I removed it.
