Your daily reminder that the vast majority of gender affirming surgery recipients are cis people.

Your gentle reminder that the vast majority of people are cis people

I think we need to encourage this. Some folks have worked way too hard to teach the cis people what top surgery scars look like.

Assuming this is a legitimate question. It's usually caused by an imbalance in the testosterone/estrogen hormones. Most humans have both, but the ratio determines a lot of your body characteristics.

It can just be a natural change over time, it could be caused by different kinds of drugs (performance enhancing, recreational, or medical). It could be caused by a sudden change in diet and exercise. It could just be your body deciding to store all your fat in one obnoxious place.

It could also be a symptom of some diseases. There's tons of reasons, and a large percentage of humans experience some form of it.

Gynecomastia, it's a hormonal imbalance in men. It causes abnormal breast growth.

The reason it looks different than regular breasts (I think, this is just my theory) is that it's actually caused by low T, which causes breasts to grow. There isn't actually enough estrogen to mature and maintain the breasts, so they look...well, not good.
Again, this is just my theory, take it with a grain of salt.

But yes, gynecomastia.

Testosterone doesn’t reverse or prevent gynecomastia, using T when you don’t need it could actually cause gynecomastia because excess testosterone converts to estrogen.

Yeah, aromatization (conversion of too much T into E) is weird.
I guess it makes sense that it wouldn't be the other way around, since during pregnancy, E levels are astronomical.
But still...what was the plan here, evolution? I guess...to combat complete androgen insensitivity syndrome?

There is a difference between removing fat and removing glands that can produce milk to feed babies.

-25

Gynecomastia is abnormal glandular development in breast tissue belonging to a bio-male, though. Can also remove some fat, but the surgery is predominantly to remove glandular tissue. It's basically a double mastectomy for cis dudes and is 100% a gender affirming thing - same as a mastectomy for trans men.

31

There literally isn’t lol, it’s the same surgery with the same techniques.

PS: cis men can lactate, it’s all hormonal.

20

Now so many babies out there are gonna starve since you chose to do it. Look at what you have done.

15

If the person with the glands in question is male, having gone through the wrong puberty and it causes them great anguish and dysphoria, I believe that removing those is just as important as removing gynecomastia, which is "just fat".

15

Tell me you know nothing about biology without telling me you know nothing about biology.

This isn’t an unpopular opinions community. Take your dog shit opinion and GTFO.

Pretty sure dudes exhibiting gynecomastia produce milk too.

Do you think that guy should have been denied the surgery because he could be feeding babies?
