Love these guys for VFX but man this video is obnoxious.
Easily their worst challenge. I watched it yesterday and the comments were roasting them for setting them up to fail with gnome. This was less of a VFX challenge and more of a Figure Out A New Operating System With An Unfamiliar UI challenge.
And then the things that burned them weren't the fault of the software or OS
That video thumbnail alone made me skip clicking it
I can't stand the youtubeness of this video for long so forgive me if they mention this, but Weta, ILM, Pixar, Blizzard Cinematics Dept, Blue Sky (RIP), Rhythm & Hues (RIP), Buf, etc. used or have used Linux for years. Unix/Linux were the OG operating systems for computer graphics. Game studios are very Windows-centric.
