NeoTS2: A new engine for The Sims 2 [Not OC]

Original Reddit Post Here

Hello everyone! I'm (OP not me personally) building NeoTS2, a new 64-bit engine for The Sims 2 that runs the game from your own install's original files (no EA files included, so you need your own copy). The goal is the game you know on modern PCs, without the old memory limits, and open to deeper mods.

It's early and not playable yet, but you can already browse your neighborhoods, enter lots and see your Sims in their own outfits.

Progress, details and source: NeoTS2 on GitHub Once a Sim can walk around and do something, I’ll open a playtest. 😊

Notes from the comments: OP mentions using AI to work on this. They also mention writing it "from scratch in C++" it very well could be just vibe coded slop, I don't have enough technical knowledge myself to say. Just wanted to share this since the concept itself is interesting.

I've never been crazy about the open world personally but less load times going to community lots would actually probably make me use the community lots. Although, when I take all my CC out load times do get better lol.
