Message box bug: All DMs show up in all conversations
Basically, if I open a chat with one account, my messages from/to other accounts (well, just one because I don't have more convos) are also displayed in the chat. Seems like a kinda significant bug.

I have two contacts in my messages box.
The first contact is an automated welcome message I received from a bot after joining a community on lemmy 4 months ago. The second contact is a conversation I initiated with a user of a piefed instance.
When I open either conversation, the top message showing on the screen is the one I received from the bot, and below that the conversation with the other user is showing up.
I'll try DMing you too and see what happens then.
Edit: Yes, my message to you has also been appended to all conversations for all contacts.
Thank you for reporting this issue. I figured out that the issue only occurs on PieFed.
The root cause is that Lemmy uses the same endpoint for getting all private messages vs privates messages between you and someone else. PieFed uses two separate endpoints. Summit only uses the general private message endpoint so PieFed just ignored the specific user argument and just returned all messages which is why no matter which conversation you tapped on you always saw the full list of messages. Fix is to split the call into two for PieFed only.
This bug will be fixed in the next release.
