It's kinda shitty that the Judiciary does this kind of stuff in the eve of elections, in my opinion it makes them look unprofessional.

I think this is actually what happened in this case. They probably held off the decision until the election, for maximum impact.

Idk, I presume his brother is working on a military coup if his brother fails to win there. Allowing that to go unpunished is how the US got this stupid.
While the majority of arrests on the eve of elections are going to overwhelmingly undercut democracy, this one is likely warranted, albeit in a country that doesn't have jury trials.
