There is no such thing as a way out in a country made up of people who let Trump win a second time or voted for him a second time. Period.
Even when Trump is dead and the GOP out of office, we'll still have a sea of contemptible morons making up a significant portion of our country.
The regrettable conclusion I've come to is that Germany's reconstruction was more or less successful in part due to the fact that ~12 million Germans were killed during the war, if memory serves. Surely a lot of innocent collateral...but also probably a lot of Nazi slime. That's a lot of people you don't need to worry about rehabilitating, or worry about them firebombing occupation forces, or sieg-heiling Holocaust survivors, or creating a lost cause myth to whitewash their crimes, or generally trying to gin up Round 2.
I’ve been convinced since 2020 when Trump won 5 million more votes in the middle of COVID while thousands of people dying per day that this country must suffer before we can recover. Americans are just too fucking stupid.

I'm glad I happened to by coincidence have moved away long ago from the USA, and cancelled my citizenship as soon as possible. I knew things might get bad since the Obama era, but couldn't picture Americans letting it get this bad - at least back then. I'd already get into fights with Trumpers even before he was elected. Surely such thinkings would not have been tolerated I thought. I just knew that with how things were going, there's no reason to subject my future wife at the time to them, when her family is in Finland anyway. Surely Hillary would win despite how despicable she was, because Trump was even worse without a doubt.
And she technically did win I suppose.
There's no possible way I would not have killed those kidnappers in cold rage had I come across this otherwise today. Or have hunted them otherwise. I don't understand people who haven't. I don't know how you can watch this and be a citizen of a country like that and not do that.
Not everything is solved by violence. But this deserves nothing less than that. Much like Russia ln forces deserve no less either. It's why I'm preparing to protect where I live now and have willingly signed up to be in the reserves - in case our neighbor Russia decides something stupid too. Because what life is worth living where you allow things like this to happen. Is the emotion you feel real or only hollow, if you see this and immediately don't go do something, anything, to stop it.
So many of you Americans are cowards. I understand not everyone has bravery, and that's okay. Not everyone is a fighter - not everyone can fight. But it's not okay it's so many of you.
Now I have to do what I can to protect my new home. And I'm glad at the protests done even against much smaller political things here. Because I know you can't allow it to grow worse. I just hope after this current government the Finnish people vote with sense as well. Because otherwise, violence ends up being the only moral solution.
