might be something to do with language tags, if the post is tagged with a language not selected in your profile you won't see the post.

I haven't figured out yet how to add more languages to the profile selector though.

I have all the languages available to select selected, but swedish unfortunately isn't one of them

What happens if you unselect all languages in your profile? That's my setting and I can see lots of posts.

Yeah it's... strange? I don't know if the list of languages exist is something the instance admins pick or if it's a Lemmy thing, but it probably should default to no languages selected so you can see everything. Maybe even when you look at a community and it says "no posts" it should hint at there are posts just not in the languages you've asked to display.

very confusing indeed, anyway thank you for your help! :)

yes, same here, I subscribed to a portuguese community but I can't see any posts, I'm guessing this is the reason.

I have a partial answer. Apparently, when someone subscribes to a community on another server, the subscribing server begins pulling in posts from that point forward. (I’ve also seen some say from the previous 24 hours.).

I don’t see sh.itjust.works on https://lemmy.helvetet.eu/instances. So, perhaps there’s an approval process on their end for federation?

I do see lemmy.helvetet.eu on https://sh.itjust.works/instances

So, whatever is up is clearly on the lemmy.helvetet.eu end.

Hello, Sorry to check, but are you sure you set your scope to "subscribed" and not "local"?

I am, also if I go directly to the community it shows "No posts" which isn't true if you look at it on the instance's own page for that community it shows 15 posts.

I'm seeing lots of posts when following your link, so maybe whatever the problem was resolved itself?
