Took my meds today but still can't stop saying "Albert Pujols bubols" in my head.

Anybody have any tricks to stop that? I usually have a song (or several) stuck in my head when not actively talking or thinking, which I like generally. But this is overriding that and it's driving me nuts.

Edit: thanks for the tips, everyone. Eventually Rammstein took over and I was made normal again. But I'll be sure to try some of these next time it happens.

Sounds pike the way I had Mountain Munch stuck when i was selling that flavor popcorn. But for me I think that was a sensory stimming thing

for earworms (i.e. songs), i erase it with Wanna Date My Avatar.

that song never sticks in my head when I don't want it 👍

i haven't tested but i theorize this song works so well because it's based on a very basic rhythm. my guess is the beat track is from a generic free track pre-programmed into electric keyboards (music, not computer typing).

so by extension, other simple midi style beat tracks or simple songs could also work.

Oh dang haven't heard that in decades, thanks for that blast from the past!

One thing I try is to use mindfulness starting with the soundscape and then adding the sounds in my brain to it. It's already there, so let it be. Then it loses power over you and eventually goes away.
