Slightly better pic of Fujinokawa's ¡olé!
NHK really needs some better quality cameras in there. The motion blur is a lot
see y'all in 6 weeks
Asasuiryu comes off the lines with his hands in Shishi's armpits, preventing the big man from getting any arm control, and drives him back and out.
Ura and Tobizaru go back and forth with slaps and pull down attempts and separate at arms length before Ura finally lines up a drive to shove the Monkey out.
Abi and Nishikifuji get some face slaps and nodowa off the lines until Nishi pulls Abi around with an arm bar that brings him to the bales and looks for the oshidashi but Abi dances along the edge and slaps Nishi down.
Fujiseiun gets a deep inside right and can't complete the rear trip over his back leg, but Asakoryu ends up facing away and looks like it may have aggravated his right knee injury so Fuji walks him out from behind.
Asanoyama drive Yoshinofuji back a bit but he pivots and muscles Asa all the way around before getting a yoritaoshi crush out.
Takayasu again with the forearm shiver to the face but despite a slap down attempt Fujiryoga lines up a drive, takes the belt, and throws Papa to the clay.
Fujinokawa comes in hard and bounces off Atamifuji who locks up his arms and drives the smaller wrestler to the tawara where Fuji does a quick pivot and throws Atami on the dirt, finishing with his arm over his head like a flamenco dancer.
Ozeki battle between Kotozakura and Kirishima who finds a belt grip first, but Koto survives being hefted to the bales and gets his own belt grip. Short stalemate broken when they both work the belt position and Kiri comes out on top by shifting Koto's foot over the edge.
TITLE MATCH! Off the lines Aonishiki partially grips his favorite left underhand belt but only briefly as it's broken by Onosato's heavy nodowa which Aoni parries but Ono finds again to quickly take the ozeki back and out with tsukidashi. The yokozuna's thrusts were too much for Aoni.
Fujinokawa was the only one of the 3 trailing from yesterday to win today so he joins Aonishiki for the jun-yusho.
I was reminded more of another traditional Spanish passtime.
noooo Shishi... well 7-8 isn't that bad a record, it'll keep ya in Makuuchi at any rate.
Ura beholds the chaos he's created.
A nice flourish! I thought Atamifuji had him til the last second.
Well if Onosato won we knew it'd be quick. Congratulations to the yokozuna, he's a force of nature! Good show Aonishiki on making it a dramatic last day!
