Nagra is a Swiss brand of portable audio recorders first introduced in 1951. In 1997, the company expanded into new markets by launching a range of high-end equipment designed for the audiophile community.

As for the top unit:

immediately signals that the creators are doing everything they can to make a quality device

For sure. I have no idea how Schweiz engineering and product comes close to Deutsch engineering, but it seems to me that... there may be some connection?

These are obviously heavy as fuck but super cool, recorded many things over the years on 1/8" tape!
