NOMM Mod Manager

NOMM is a stupid simple, super clean "native" (as in it runs on Linux without having to use translation tools...) mod manager for Linux.

I'm not a project dev, I just really want this project to grow and succeed, because it solves a lot of my problems.

What I really want to talk about is the ability to add managed games via a very simple yaml file.

They have a configurations repo that they welcome people to fork, add new configs to, then PR back into main. Right now it's off to a good start and contains some excellent examples that can be easily ported into new game configs, but there are so many more games that could be supported but are yet added.

Tonight I plan on contributing a few, and I encourage others to do the same!

Build it yourself or switch to Arch and use the AUR

That's an option. "Here's some rocks: go make your own computer."

But that adds to the setup cost, and with the clean removal of good packages (sit down, Debian), testing something is easier. The same way SLSA gives us a good install, it also forces a format with a good UNinstall.

I wonder what makes this different or better compared to something like Amethyst. I haven't really gotten around to trying the latter either yet, but that's the one I keep hearing about.

Amethyst looks more mature, but I believe the key distinction is the ability to add any game you want/need in NOMM.

You reached the end
