Polling Opinions of [email protected] Users
Hello, ![email protected], I am a moderator of the ![email protected] and ![email protected] communities, and I wish to ask for the opinions of people who are a part of this community.
[email protected] has less than a fourteenth of the users of it's equivalent lemmy.world community, and has had only three posts over the last year.
With this in mind, I am proposing that this community be closed, and redirected towards the larger Fallout community here on Lemmy.
I do agree with the stated purpose of promoting decentralisation on Lemmy, but I have not found this community to meaningfully break away from centralised instances. And in the interest of preventing fragmentation of instances, to the negative effect of both communities, I believe this would be the best course of action.
I do not, however, wish to assert this opinion over others who have more invested in this community than I do. And so, I am asking for feedback from the members of this community. If this post is already locked by the time you see it, reach out to me on my piefed account, @[email protected], which I check more frequently.
Thank you in advance for your time, and I thank the users of this community for their efforts in building, namely @[email protected], and [email protected] for founding the community, and their notable activity respectively.

Hey, since you're modding all the other Fallout comms I guess that makes sense. They're not really decentralized anyway if there's one person moderating them all.
Before you close it though, you should see if anyone would step forward to take over this one. That'd be better than outright closing it or leaving it unmoderated, we've all seen what happens to a comm at that point. Otherwise, closing makes sense to me
One of my main motivations for this post is, just as you said, seeing if anyone else is open to running this community. If the community is locked, I hope any prospective moderators reach out to me as I've outlined in my post, so I don't end up enforcing my own opinion over everyone else. (Future readers, make note of this)
I've found this community and ![email protected] are just about identical in the kind of posts, with the exception of this community having been unmoderated for around two years. And so, I decided getting ahead of any issues before they occur is a good idea. I just thought a courtesy post like this is good form, in case I've made some mistake in my determination.
Ok It's been about a week; I don't know about the subscribers here (I'm not part of this group, even though I really love these games - at least some of them - and their inspiring lore), but I'd just keep this community alive with this post pinned to the top to guide Fediverse travelers to more active communities while they are still online (who knows, maybe some people would need a refuge here against future misalignment with governance on other servers?).
That said, I see no downvotes nor original mod's activity, and thus no reason not to promote you to mod.
