Just the sort of contortions we will all be forced into, to comply with the new overlords. But no worries, once you get used to it, it won't hurt. You're more tolerant and flexible than you can imagine.

I'm starting to think I'm a single-issue voter on privacy. Although only because I don't trust right-wingers at all on the subject, so it's not forcing me to make any tough decisions.

Yeh the topic is concerning but the slop is heavily distracting.

In terms of regs the article states “Australia is instead building the technological capacity first and leaving the rules governing the resulting data fragmented between Commonwealth and state laws.”

I know this is not the same as other digital restrictions being implemented right now but it has the same tone of acting without thought and design of what they want to achieve or how to manage it.

I suppose a bonus is this rush of erosion of digital rights will hopefully get people more awake to what’s occurring. Having your phone searched at the border….just because and then where that info is going is very USA 2025. Can’t believe how quick it’s being tolerated elsewhere.
