Right about CNN? Well we don't know for sure if they would've done this before his buddies bought it. But who knows. Even without this bullshit, it's worth boycotting CNN now. They bought Warner Bros knowing full well it would make for a great extension to their propaganda machine.

What saddens me is Warner Bros also owns HBO, which makes Last Week Tonight. I doubt John Oliver would cave in, but they can just cancel his show.

This gives "calling the house phone from the living room using the new-fangle cell phone because hahaha that's so cool" vibes. My father did that and freaked out my idiot brother.

Anyone got a working link or any link to a story about this?

CNN is a media company that has a lot to gain if it can get its audience to accept AI "personalities".

Oh god. This is it.

They are dying for people to gradually accept slop media, and likely their investors as well. They want to normalize a "no human" media feed so they can just skip the camera crew and writers and makeup and all that expensive shit and just pay a cloud ai bill which redirects a stream of video content that you buy.

They really want to eliminate all the arts and have robots do that while we mine the coal mines.

Oh even better. It could be customized through the app, by default. Maybe you like blondes with boobs, maybe your neighbor likes brunettes with tiny titties, maybe your other neighbor wants a big black dude.

But with this tech, we can MaXiMiZe eNgAgEmEnT with custom talking heads for the 24x7 outrage bull shit machine.

Woah CNN is the forerunner of Picus News from Deus Ex.

Lmao this future is stupid.

Yeah, in 2006 it took a dozen people behind the camera to run a local newscast. Now they do it with three people and a ton of automation.

It's literally the perfect business model, like the one refined by ad-based mobile game companies, but even easier.

Agents troll for the news. Agents right up the news. It's fed to a video agent that reads the news. No need for human intervention. No need for any pesky slowdowns. Everything is ready in moments from the moment it happens.

Unfortunately, we're going to lose integrity, accuracy, and virtually everything else that we need in the news source.

It's going to be unwatchable but they will still shove it in our face until they find out they can't really make that much money from it. But they won't hire the real people back again because then they'd have to admit they were wrong so they will just not have serious news anymore and even more people will get informed from podcasts and youtubers and other alternative media. These people in the Entertainment Business would rather destroy a business than pay people.

These people in the Entertainment Business would rather destroy a business than pay people.

Capitalism.

Friend of mine told me his boss said he'd rather burn the place to the ground than let the workers unionize.

So far as I know, that boss never suffered any personal violence, despite treating everyone like shit.

I mean literally everyone will. All media will become a cesspool of magnificently curated garbage. That's going to transcend national boundaries.

Honestly, I think you'd be right at home here. You're sort of one of us now.

What you're saying is almost verbatim Trump's fans claiming that they voted for him and will endure whatever pain he dishes out just to own the libs.

I'd be okay with Max Headroom, but he told it like it is. Might be too far for them.

Theoretically, could you feed to some genAI video of this Tilly Norwood and create an exact—or close enough—replica?

Then, theoretically, make videos of her saying and doing extremely offensive things?

FYI this was just a quick test with Minimax H3, locally generated on a RTX 3090/Ryzen 7800 desktop.

And to answer your question... yep. It's not a prompt box. H3 will take any combination of audio, video, and images as reference, as well as controlnets for poses, masking, character swapping...

That's not a response that's just repeating the question

Heh. I am AFK, but H3 isn't really censored if that's what you're wondering. It will say whatever, with enough structure.

No theory needed. You absolutely can, almost trivially so.

Only real challenge(s) would be either owning the hardware capacity or renting from a neutral host to run the fake AI personality at/or near equivalent levels if you're gonna unleash Titty SouthRisesWood in an autonomous form.

Maybe a lawyer with a sense of humor on retainer to respond to the frivolous demand letters if they eventually find out you're behind it.

And that's just if you want to fight AI with AI.

Anyone could copy the model the good ol' fashioned way in Blender, turn on a voice changer or use non-AI TTS and get to uploading their protected parodies.

And aren't there recent legal rulings in the US that say that LLM-generated content is not able to copyrighted?

3

Not anymore. Anyone with a beefy gaming PC can do reference-to-video with enough fidelity for memes.

...Especially when the "AI Actress" is already so bad.

This made me wonder about the ethics of "deepfake" porn of genAI pixels that look like a human.

3

Ai companies are not held responsible even though many of them directly advertise this as a feature like grok.

Instead they say "its already illegal" and try to go after the individuals to generated it. And even then thats not even true, the courts said ai generated porn is legal even if its csam, and Donald trump made it illegal for the states to regulate ai in any form. Which includes generating csam, deepfakes, etc. Because to the epstine class that's just innovation.

Their argument is that they can't be held responsible because someone used their tool inappropriately when the tool was specifically designed and has features to do this.

My argument is this is a level of willful incompetence to the point of allowing it. Its for example like if a father would go to prison for leaving his gun loaded on the kitchen table, and his son goes out and commits crimes with said gun. Ai companies like grok are doing the equivalent of unloading truck loads of automatic guns at the capitol building during January 6th.

Section 230 only applies to people who you aren't virtually guiding to do these illegal/harmful things. You can't just say we aren't responsible for teens using your platform(like meta is) and then do everything in your power to get kids addicted on your platform short of making it mandatory for every child to sign up for their services.

These people know what they are doing and pretending like they don't know what happened or know how to stop it.

Edit* I'm stupid I didnt even read/comprehend your post and essentially went on my own rant. If it means anything I brought up a few points that still apply.

2

Probably? I'm curious of the result of feeding AI more AI to try to replicate a particular AI creation.

To obtain money. I remember cnn airing bits about "the secret" without disclosing that it was an ad.

It's not an interview if it's genAI lol

Literally no intelligence in the answers. Literally pointless questions and answers.

Realistically, I think characters like these would be designed and run by committee, just like all other corpo slop media we've been getting. Games, music, series, and films that have been written by teams of people, and then molded by data gathered on viewership and control groups. No daring creative decisions can be allowed, as everything has to be backed by market research to ensure mass appeal, marketability, and dreadful mediocrity.

It makes me think of the On-Lyne side story in Warframe.

Been thinking a lot lately about some words I saw in your Technocyte Coda debrief: predictable, standardized, and controlled. Music to my eyes right now. The only thing predictable about pop stars these days is their whining and complaining. Fame really goes to their perfectly coiffed heads.

Predictable, standardised, controlled. That's what they want. Workers being complex individuals with their own passions and lives is so annoying. You can't work them 24/7, and they might get silly things like ideas, and thoughts of their own.

Wasn’t this the premise for a dumb movie 20 years ago? Now it’s a premise of dumb real life?
