Trump Says If Iran Had a Nuclear Weapon, He Would Have Politely Called the Supreme Leader Instead of ‘Bombing the Crap Out of Him’

President Trump said at the Republican National Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday night that if Iran had a nuclear weapon, he would have politely called up the Supreme Leader instead of “bombing the crap” out of the country.

“If they had a nuclear weapon, I’d be calling the Supreme Leader, and I’d be saying, ‘Mr. Supreme Leader, how are you, sir? Is there anything we can do for you?’ as opposed to bombing the crap out of him.” Trump said, evoking cheers from the crowd.

“It’s very simple. We cannot let them have a nuclear weapon,” the president added.

While Trump has continued to frame his war with Iran as necessary to prevent the country from obtaining nuclear weapons, there was no evidence either before the June 2025 war or the current conflict that Tehran had decided to pursue a bomb, and that was the consensus of US intelligence agencies at the beginning of Trump’s second term.

“We continue to assess Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and that Khamenei has not reauthorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003, though pressure has probably built on him to do so,” read the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s annual threat assessment that was published in March 2025 and represented the assessment of the entire US intelligence community.

So he is giving credence to the assertion that nukes are needed for national security. Because if you don't have them you can be bullied by mentally unstable dictators.

Surely this will convince them to never develop nukes. /S

They put out a report a while back they basically said that his attacks had no effect on their progress to nuclear weapons. . So that's nice

Helps that 5 to 0 on a scale of 1 to 100 is basically nothing. Basically every intelligence report said they weren't working towards weapons.

This moron doesn’t understand he just caused the nuclear black market to boom for any non nuclear nation or group feeling threatened by other nations. Peace through strength hasn’t worked in modern times anywhere long term, in fact it’s become so unsuccessful it’s literally making things worse than if we just handed everyone a modern technological society with air conditioning, nuclear power that’s regulated and has oversight and made trade pacts with them all.

  • #1 Get Nukes
  • #2 If asked to give up your nukes, do NOT give up your nukes.
  • #3 If you're accused of having nukes, drop everything IMMEDIATELY and find some nukes.

Another data point in the Hasanabi Doctrine

Can we add "establish a democracy" at some point? Sick of all these autocrats with nukes.

2

And now every country on the planet has one simple goal: Don’t want to get picked on by the US? Get a nuke.

So the pretext for the initial bombing of Iran that started this whole thing is now admittedly a complete lie. The whole world knew it to be so, but now that sack of feces is admitting it. If only there was true justice in this world.

So we'll keep bombing them until they get a nuke. That's 5D chess there. Pretty sure our relations with Iran were doing better thanks to Obama, and then, well... this guy showed up.

There's nothing else you can say to make countries want nukes more...

I mean, capable world leaders should already remember it hasn't been that long since Ukraine gave nukes "back" to Russia in exchange for the promise to never be invaded.

Words are like wind, nuclear Armageddon ruins the oil.

If there is any silver lining to the nightmare of the Trump administration, it's that their actions are driving people away from oil, of which the U.S. is the world's largest producer, and towards solar and other renewables, for which China is the world's largest producer.

Note that China is also the worlds second largest consumer of Oil followed by other BRICS nations India and Russia.

Honestly you'd get more up votes for abstaining from praising China, thr Totalitarian Dictatorship which promoted Trump back into power.

1

The China issue is just a statement of reality. It’s like Iran, a country that is on the nose suddenly is seen as a white knight or underdog compared with the bumbling USA. They haven’t changed but the credibility of US and its position of leadership has been trashed.

America's current government sucks...

But so does China's, and it's a lot less likely China's populace can change their government.

Replacing the US on the global stage with China is absolutely not a silver lining.

And that's ignoring that we're the largest extractor (since Trump's first term) but still not the largest exporter.

Like, even just saying someone "produces" oil is wild.

No one makes oil, it's a matter of how much a country wants to pull out of the ground. And once it's all pulled out, it's gone.

The best way to store oil long term is leave it in the fucking ground where it formed.

trump and Biden took fossil fuel money to deregulate so it can all be pulled out now before renewable make it obsolete.

But some day our descendents might fucking need it.

There's one difference: with time, any country can build factories to produce solar panels and wind turbines. That doesn't happen with oil.

Could be wrong here but...a lot of oil-derived advanced materials go into making that renewable energy generation equipment, doesn't it? :(

Although yeah, using it for decades-long parts instead of burning it into the atmosphere once, seems like the way to go.

1

For now, maybe, but that's just because renewables need to work their way up the supply chain.

You're gonna be saying it for the rest of your life. You may as well get it tattooed on your forehead. AI is problematic, no doubt, but I couldn't give 2 fucks if it's used for memes.

Well there's about 77,303,568 of them

Even among those who voted for him in 2024, his approval rating is around 40%.

Which is really shit

Trump loves saying things that nobody else is saying. He thinks it's because he's so smart he was able to figure it out before anyone else.
