Isn't it like, most animals?

There was this study showing that bees were doing a cost-benefit balance about resources, which is also thinking against impulse. Are we going to pretend to be shocked about every new study that shows that animals are sentient, just so that we can delude ourselves more into thinking that it's not immoral to kill them?

Thank you. I had someone just yesterday try to pull the "fish don't really feel pain" bullshit on me.

Meanwhile:

For rainbow trout, an estimated 10 (1.9–21.7) minutes of moderate to extreme pain (Hurtful, Disabling and Excruciating pain combined) are endured by each trout due to air asphyxia

I assume the news is more that there has been a robust study done that proves it.
