I've watched a few of their videos and definitely the content is validating, but I don't find it terribly useful. They are trying to sell their package of ND self-help products.. which is fine, I guess? As long as it isn't a rip-off.
I don't know about that...
Giving a look through their content I didn't find citations to any researchers or anyone in the medical field. Many times in the videos the presenter says "I've observed" and "I learned that".
The description of the videos don't include links to any sources but onclude links to products on amazon and a link to their paid membership ($190 a year. ouch)
Looks like the tipical self-help scam to me
Auticate (Chris and Debby) is good value, especially if you're recently diagnosed and/or trying to figure everything out.
Thanks. It’s getting downvoted pretty badly because of the way Lemmy formats crossposts, but i’ll leave it up, it might help one other person.
You don't even mention the name of the channel. It's a very clickbaity post and deserves the down votes. And I'm a fan of Auticate.
Fair enough. I’ve learned a lot from posting and cross posting to these communities. Either you share perfectly to high standards or they pitchfork you out. I’ll dial back to lurking I think, not the crowd I was expecting.
If putting the name of the thing you're promoting is too much to ask of you, I do believe we are not your crowd. That's such a low bar, it can hardly be called a bar at all.
I see your point. But rule 2 and 3, are very much encouraging any post.
There’s a serious difference between “Cool channel, could you add the name of the channel to your OP?”, vs the treatment I’ve gotten.
I was simply sharing, and if the community has unwritten expectations, just say so. Instead you get silent downvoting at best and people swearing at you condoned by moderators.
Lemmy is not doing well. It is not taking off. If this is how a random stranger walking into a vulnerable online space gets treated then we’re definitely not going to make it.
I never thought I'd see DARVO in such a petty exchange. Don't let the door hit you on your way out!
Or you could just be kind. Sama amount of characters to type.
He can be corny, but I really like them.
