While the Netherlands does actually have a parliamentary democracy, it's actually a constitutional monarchy. These days the role of the King is pretty much ceremonial though.
It's sad that these people still exist, whether figures or absolute.

Democracy is a universal concept, not just a selective privilege enjoyed on the backs of others.
If America is arming over 80% of the dictatorships globally, then that makes America the LEAST democratic nation in the world.
NOT to even mention our shortcomings domestically. States vote, regardless of population. Corporations are "people". We're not even close.
