That is so cool, they are very reclusive in my experience. I've only seen a few.
I've seen videos of people that adopted like orphans, and they were just like dogs, except they make goofier noises perhaps.
Like dogs on meth maybe, even the little selectively bred fennec foxes are hyper active little things.
The wild ones need to be cared for and released if possible, or kept in a sanctuary if unsuitable for release into the wild.
Living as a pet is often a better life than some of these sancturies for the animals unfit to be released from some of the sanctuaries I've seen, fenced in a small area with no company and people gawking at them.
The one I visited only did the visitor thing a few times a year as fundraisers, and even then it was up to the animal (wolves and wolf mixes in this case) to even be visible to us. A few came out, some were interested and more tame, and others were only glimpsed during feeding.
Many were either injured or too old to be released.
The main things with keeping these as pets is being aware that tame is not the same as domesticated, and also to make sure even legal in your area to keep as a pet.
Yeah for sure. The last one I saw was a farm that at some point was overtaken by city sprawl, to stay afloat they made like a kids school, do like nature stuff and maple syrup operations and charge people to walk through there. They had a bobcat, some raptors and all sorts of stuff in these maybe 50x100 ft fenced in areas, with an out of sight place to retreat to, but still. Being alone, all day every day, is an ill fate.
