Getting a photo of a Swainson's hawk catching a bat was quite the challenge, but so much fun! It's a little like gambling... We gotta go again! Next time we'll get it right!

So COOL!
I feel a bit bad for the bats, but I think this would have been amazing to watch in person! The cats around here fly pretty fast, I couldn't imagine catching one on the move.
I know what you mean, I love animals, but rats are basically mice with wings, so its good idea to not get too worked up over them.
It's all part of life. I appreciate that a small number of the bats go to keeping other animals healthy too.
