We took in a pretty garter snake today that had a huge bump on its head. I hope we're able to fix it up. It seemed pretty lively, so I'm hoping it's largely superficial.
Snakes do some important jobs, so not wanting to be around them is ok, but we should still support our slithery friends!
Some are fun to be around. I spent all morning feeding baby voles smaller than my pinkie finger and a bunch of juvenile opossums.
Just grabbed this photo of baby voles, since I can't hold the tiny little beans and photo them at the same time (surprisingly squirmy things!) but this is what they looked like. They made me think of hippos that got a blast from a shrink ray.
