I always laugh when mine is sleeping then wakes himself up by farting...

The way they speak in snake in the Harry Potter movies would be an example.

a possibility nobody has mentioned yet: undiagnosed psychosis

though other possibilities like the water tank, a fart, or anything else innocuous are probably more likely

Or any brain-related condition might cause this eerie feeling of uneasiness, that there is someone in the room, auditive hallucinations, etc.

I would check with my doctor next day.

Not even pathological though - exhaustion will do this. I used to be so tired (life situation exhausting) and more than once got up to pee in the night, sat on the toilet but was not completely convinced I was awake not dreaming so couldn't pee. Dreams intruding on that barely awake state is, I don't want to say normal, but not unusual either.

It never happens now I am better rested.

The water tank behind the toilet sometimes hisses due to how it works. Most people conveniently ignore it because sleep-adled brains are fucking idiots.

Real: Actual monsters are everywhere at all times, but only come to your bathroom at night.

Heterosexual: Those monsters have genitalia, and if you're charming enough, you can initiate various forms of intercourse with them.

Or just like, run around your house peeing everywhere while opening lights.

Well, assuming this a guy and he heard a man's voice, i don't think it is going to be heterosexual...

On the other hand, I'm straight, but if I had the chance to bang a ghost, I wouldn't miss my chance because of those details. You might be talking to Jesus, but I'm fucking your great-great-grandpa!

Fake: It wasn't nobody, it was a boyfriend anon is living with and he's lying about it.

Gay: It wasn't nobody, it was a boyfriend anon is living with and he's lying about it.

Based on this description, I imagined a super deep male voice slowly saying "hiss" as a word, not making it a sound effect. Yeah, that does sound scary 😆

Maybe he drank some cider?

There is anecdotal evidence that it can lead to an overwhelming sense of impending doom.

You reached the end
