It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the McConnell has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Appalachia. He is the Master of Kentucky by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of Kentucky for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die.
Yet even in his deathless state, the McConnell continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the McConnell's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse.
To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
Here’s the original text (hopefully autocorrect doesn’t screw it up, I’m posting on mobile):

It’s the intro on pretty much every 40k book there is (Edit - not on A Thousand Sons, that has a different intro, so probably not Horus Heresy and the like, anything occurring in the 30k era).
I just checked my copy of the first Ciaphas Cain novel as well as Wreck and Ruin (Sister of battle novel) and it’s copied essentially word for word.
As far as I can tell there really isn't one and our country has just transitioned to an plutocracy. It's kind of why I crashed out, they just collectively realized Americans aren't going to do shit about fuck and so far they're right.

I suspect he was brain dead for much longer than 1 month.
Probably right. I stole this meme a while ago and realized it was going to expire soon

1000 lib-tards a day. 1000 wokies and 1000 dei hires to keep him alive.
Holy quality-post! This is beautiful
It’s literally just the intro to most Warhammer 40k books, just with McConnell swapped for the emperor and a few words changed.
It’s copypasta.
Had me fooled. Is the original one from the sourcebooks?
Edit: holy hell engrish

It really bugs me that they changed the line "for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war"
I almost edited the original lol
It's basically the synopsis of 40k. First page of every book, but yes it's an incredible quote.

LOL
What is the actual legal process in this situation? Its never even mentioned in most articles about the situation.

I think mankind would be worse off in this version of 40k
Don't insult Big E like that.
