The director also added that he thought the first season of Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth TV series was “pretty damn good” — which from Scott is high praise.
I thought it peaked at the pilot episodes myself.
Anyway, hope we get a Romulus sequel with the same lead cast. They were the most interesting thing to happen since the first two movies IMO.
IMO the A:E show was better than the last 2 or 3 Alien movies.
We got the epic ship crash episode, the crazy assorted new deadly alien species, the Ghost in the Shell children, plus the awesome cyborg vs android battle. Noah Hawley needs to keep cooking with all that
Yeah, there are definitely some great ideas. Just some stuff like the scientist couple taking opposing sides with WY etc put me off. Maybe a fan edit could sort out my issues with it.
Also not a fan of superheroes. The androids have been basically turned into those (why does she have a sword on her back). I get that there’s a whole audience of Marvel fans out there etc, but just doesn’t appeal to me.
I wouldn't really call the Ghost in the Shell children androids, since they allegedly have the minds of human kids in them instead of being programmed bots. But that was also a question posed by the story - are they really the kids, or are they something else like a copy or an abomination?
Superheroes are just a thing that goes back through the legends and tall tales of humanity, like the stories of Hercules and the Greek pantheon etc. Marvel and DC corporations don't own that idea.
Meh, it started really well but got sillier as it went on. I don't understand how the "kids" got away with half the shit they did, surely if they're so unique and valuable, but also have the minds of children you would keep a 24/7 remote watch on them? Why did the super secure armoured lab have a floor level vent that a fully grown man could easily crawl through? Wendy is far too OP, super strong, clever, can control Aliens AND synthetics AND computers. I liked the eyeball squid tho, that thing was freaky.

Fassbender was excellent in those films.
Totally different vibe to the original but still enjoyable in their way with a few great performances.
I am glad though I can see that's going to be an unpopular opinion around here.
Counter points, no more alien shit..
Thank god Scott lost the rights to Blade Runner.
2049 was a damn good movie without him

You must've watched a different show. Alien Earth is awesome. Just more sci-fi than horror. The tie-in with predator was dope

Thank the Lord, Idk if I can take anymore alien prequel "lore" from the man himself. The first helping wasn't even that good.
you take that back
alien is amazing
Alien was, Prometheus? Not so much. Let's run from the donut ship along its broadside ass story.
my confusion was with first helping
i see you mean first prequel being meh and not first overall movie
i would agree, beyond 1 and 2, alien franchise has been bad
The "drops" in the headline is the "provides" kind, not the "gives up on" kind.
Oh no :(
