The 'Works on my machine' livestream describes itself like this:

We put developers and their docs through the test to see how idiot proof it is. Installing their application live on stream for everyone to watch, ask questions, get to know the project and the developer. JOIN US!

The trainwreck is the fun part imo! :) It means we all get to learn so much! Also! DUDE! There's events in Piefed? I see the "Add to calendar" button. That's awesome! SO EXCITED to do this. :)

Yeah its pretty cool. Events in piefed is such a good idea!

My experience installing/using piefed as an admin has been:

Install bare metal. Works for a while. lemmy.world found my instance. Slammed my tiny server to oblivion.
yunohost. This time be careful. See waaaaay to much traffic getting synced and took down my other sites.
Docker. Very minimal. Put lots of rate limiting. Seems to work for a private instance.

Then I just threw a python script and made a once a day RSS for my favorite communities. And called it a day. I just dont have the infa to sync all up/downvotes. I think its mostly lemmys one offs for votes instead of other piefed instances.

but all three times were NOT complicated. But I do python for work so this is one of the simpler setups.
