MAGA thinks they smell blood in the water on the trans issue, so that's their chosen wedge issue for the foreseeable future. I'm the past it was abortion, flag burning, kneeling, gay adoption, gay marriage, gay gayness, etc.
The proper answer to any trans nonsense is: "I am not a doctor, and I won't presume to interfere with the medical decisions between any patient and their doctor, on any subject. I have absolutely no opinions on this subject, and do not consider it an appropriate subject for a political discussion. It is an appalling and indefensible political strategy to use any medical issue as a political talking point, so I'm not interested in your opinion either."
That works for ANY medical issue, including abortion.

I think the implication is that The Democratic Party is not leftist, but rather centre leaning or even right wing in some interpretations. And then when an actual leftist candidate runs as a Democrat, the party works against them because they don't want to shift to the left at all.

I swear it’s like a magical incantation. You speak the words “men in women’s sports” and it makes conservatives completely forget their tax dollars are literally being stolen as the President defrauds the government.
That's why they keep hammering on it. That particular issue is about 80% in their favor, but the other thing is....the amount of people we are talking about is sometimes zero in certain jurisdictions.
So these yokels are voting against their own interests in nearly every way about an "issue" that is possibly not even a thing in their area.
It requires a staggering amount of hatred and delusion. If you talk to some of these people they'll start talking about the "people with blue hair" and "transgender ideology" almost without any prompting whatsoever.
