I heard about SoulSeek for the first time today. Has anyone used it before? An oldschool chatroom and P2P platform. I checked out some users and got Hold Your Horse Is by Hella and an album by Absolute Elsewhere, who were the inspiration behind the Blood Incantation album I really like

It's still a thing. I heard about it from a woman on Youtube connecting to it through a knockoff Aliexpress ipod so whilst direct use of it has probably dropped off, maybe people have found other ways to connect

the daily unkaosing has been done, tho not as much reading as I would like, but thoughts are getting clearer , now to do some latin lessons and hopefully an earlyish night ๐Ÿ˜Š

Reading some reviews of albums I like on the Angry Metal Guy blog and I think this is the way to do it. Just listen to stuff, decide if you like it, then check out the reviews years later. Then, instead of reviews colouring your opinion, you can just go "well, I liked it."

I actually like reading reviews. I enjoy other peopleโ€™s perspectives, and there are some really good writers out there who can open your eyes to things you wouldnโ€™t even consider.

I'm reminded of the Sarah J. Maas Throne of Glass series. I got to the end of the series, and really enjoyed it. I get to the online reader reviews and it was a real eye-opener! It was all women, and all they were talking about was who was shacking up with whom. Nothing about the plot. I don't know whether this series spawned the "Romantacy" genre that is now totally a thing, but yeah - I sort of missed most of that, being caught up in the actual story.

It was as though the Wyrdkeys, the Valg, the war and all the kingdoms coming together to fight for a better world were just a backdrop for everyone to hook up.

I kind of had this with Dark Souls II. I had put in about 100 hours, then looked it up on Youtube and was surprised to see people hated it. I've been vindicated though as people have come to realise it's Peak Souls

2

Oh for sure. Thatโ€™s what I meant. Established writers. ..I think the Angry Metal Guyteam has been around for a while now. (At least the site has anyway)

3

shrug

I never did take much notice of reviews other than as announcements that a record or movie or tv show or book has been released

Can't quite get my head around the fact that they're playing Hole in the supermarket

While this looks cute, I have come to realise that this is a psychological game meant to disrupt my morning and ensure that I must work around the cat.

If you're gonna stop slackjawed open-mouth in the middle of the footpath, at least have the decency to move out of the flow of people, rather than stand there like a dipstick.

Speaking of KPI's, the other day I received a package from Amazon that had to be returned and I suspect it's KPI related.

My assumption is that their warehouse staff KPI's deincentivise putting on bandaids because the thing I bought had blood sprayed on it.

Got a refund, replacement & $50 credit.

Didn't you go through this nonsense not too long ago?! Fuckin' bean counters. I don't understand putting staff under such pressure only to turn a blind eye to all of the issues it creates.

eee I drunkenly bought a new subby last night. Been meaning to pull the trigger for a while I just needed those neurons to fire a bit less to make it happen.

Old one is shit and will become a coffee table.

Anyone know of someone needing some work right now? Looking for a forkie/picker 3-4 days a week around Braeside area, with 5 days a week as of next year.

Should note that I'm happy to support anyone who isn't a forkie but would like to be in getting their license!

The local anaesthetic has almost completely worn off now. I've been through the weird itchy phase and am now moving into the 'ouch' phase. Should things get too bad I have Oxycodene on hand. I just need to time it right so I'm not just about to operate any heavy machinery.

I have to go to the dentist this morning. It's cold and wet outside and way to early and I really don't wanna.

4

Is there anyone on the surface of this planet that actually likes and looks forward to going to the dentist? That leaps out the door going 'This is the highlight of my week!' With a five buck saver on those with severe toof pain of course.
