surely I am reading this wrong, because it seems to me the post says the movie brougt in 4 million dollars while having a 200 dollar budget. And I don't know much about movie production these days, but 200 dollars seems like an unusually tight budget.

that was the cost of the cad software license the mother and son team used to animate the entire movie.
Did they actually use cad software to animate the movie?
