I would not like him to fall off and quickly drown. A nice, long, strong, plank that stretches out over the ocean for months, or however long he needs. So he can have a wonderful walk in the direct sunlight, with the salt sea air, nights spent staring into the beautiful void, thinking about his life and how he spent it, alone but for the terrors of his own soul and the thoughts that he ran so dutifully from in life.
A nice, long walk, for as long as he can.
