Aid workers found dead in Myanmar military custody as detentions surge, UN reports
Myanmar’s military and other parties to the conflict detained at least 27 humanitarian aid workers in ten separate incidents in July — one more incident than was recorded across the first six months of 2026 combined after four aid workers held in southern Tanintharyi Region saw three confirmed dead and a fourth still unaccounted for, according to a new access report from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
