A known to be a poorly designed intersection. Bike lanes that were removed years earlier over driver complaints. And an 87 year old driver, not under the influence of anything (except fucking time).

Just straight plowed through the victim from behind, because how else would it have gone with the fucking road design all throughout this wasteland?

There's so many goddamn layers that shouldn't have congealed into this goddamn system, responsible for this pointless death.

[principal skinner meme] "no, it's the ebikes that are dangerous!"

also, why point out that its an ebike? Totally irrelevant.... ahe could have been on rollerblades and it would be the same outcome

Being on a bike (e- or otherwise) makes the fact that the street used to have appropriate infrastructure for bikes but no longer does, relevant. Meanwhile, a rollerblader would've just been on the sidewalk to begin with.

As far as I'm concerned, every member of "Keep L.A. Moving" (the organization that pushed for removal of the bike lanes) has blood on their hands.
