I like the implication that EA's old ownership wasn't at odds with progressive society

Yes, but at least the old boss cared more about money and shareholder value than political statements…

What political statements have the Saudi's made? I'm curious cause they are also focusing on esports washing, so I wanna know what to expect with upcoming esports worldcup.

You could have said the US backed genocide in Yemen but you do not know about that.

The United States is the previous owner of EA.

Saudi the new owner.

Really get off your moral high horse already. Saudi is objectively more moral than the USA and that says more about the USA than Saudi being "good".

He really did explain it, but here you go:

  1. The media, in its many forms, provides information.

  2. Jamal Khashoggi works for a part of the media and said something the crown prince didn’t like.

  3. He used thugs and A FUCKING BONESAW to hack up that brave man.

  4. There is no four, that’s it. It’s the same message Israel is sending journalist: “The state message is the only message, say something different and we’ll fucking kill you first chance we get.”

  5. They are doing this with ICE and police in America more and more, so soon it won’t matter which totalitarian country owns which sycophantic company.

I don't think you understood my message either. You can scroll up and read it again :)

Oh no! A company from a country with no human values buys a company with no human values!

27

What values? Does anyone really think any of these mothers fuckers who sold it care or even have any values, the only value is how much money they are making out of it, if North Korea had a better offer they would have gladly accepted...grow the fuck up ...trash selling to trash

8

EA about to axe 90% of staff to roll out AI generated games about fucking goats and pooping on IG models.

5

EA was always a shit place to work. It's been shit for at least 15 years.

4

Ah yes. Much better to stay owned in America, where progressive society is… looks around hang on.

40

Legit... But is it real so much worse than working for the genocidal USA?

There's a reason these two shitholes are such close buddies.

3

Not like EA were the pinnacle of goodness or altruism though, is it?

Fuck 'em. They get what they deserve.

Let's hope they have "a sense of pride and accomplishment" for what's happened.

2

I mean EA as a company, sure.

EA executives that have it's the bullshit price and accomplishment, absolutely, may the get the slice of karma they all deserve.

EA employees who had no say in most of the pride and accomplishment, not as much.

Who the hell even plays EA games anymore? Yall still beating the same FIFA shit to death every year?

...should really get new houses since the solar radiation will quickly give you cancer, it robs you of your privacy, and it is very fragile and expensive to replace?

Doesn't really roll off the tongue well, though..

I believe glass stops the harmful radiation? You can’t get a sunburn through glass. Truckers would all be pretty cancerous.

truckers often have sun cancer on the arm closest to the window/door iirc

5

Side windows are the bigger issue: ordinary tempered side glass can transmit a meaningful amount of UVA.

Windshields are apparently better than side windows 😲 MY ARMS!

Why should EA care what the Saudis want? Just market to another country.

1

Saudi Arabia's purchase of Electronic Arts, the biggest leveraged buyout in private equity history, officially closed earlier this month.

Because the Saudis are EA

1

This is why I stopped playing PokemonGo immediately. Fuck those dudes

1

Honestly I doubt the PIF is going to micro manage EA to the point that employees feel it on the day to day. Usually they just sit in the board and contribute in high level management decisions like mergers, acquisitions and mass layoffs. Doesn't mean there's no changes, but it's not a "Saudi company" now either.

2

What do you mean? Women being forced to wear burkas is totally progressive man, get with the times. You're supposed to hate Jews.

Do you also talk about Judaism under every tech post considering most of the big tech is in Tel Aviv now?

So are you also comfortable making anti-semitic jokes? Or just islamophobic jokes? Interesting...

Ideally neither would be acceptable. We would blame the actual people and ideologies (zionism, monarchism, imperialism, etc) responsible.

1

You seem to be unable to understand what I'm saying.

Islam is not progressive. You should not hate Jews.

Hope that clears things up for you, I don't use /s unless I feel like I really need to.

You reached the end
