As far as I know there's no associated quest. I've got 100 % progress in the game and about 1.2k hours playtime.

There are some interesting hidden quests, but I'm pretty sure this isn't one of them.

IIRC on the computers if a file or message does potentially have a quest relating to it it'll be added to your Journal. The way I usually do these is just spam click through the all the messages (making sure I scroll down fully though) and sometimes I'll get something. Been a few months hiatus though since I last played so I may be misremembering.

Maybe a loose thread they left for the cancelled Moon expansion
