Occasionally we see "old man drives on wrong side of interstate" here in the US. It becomes a big story, but usually ends without a major accident, somehow.
And we often drive like maniacs on the interstate - depending on which one you're on, ya gotta do 80 mph/125kph just to keep from getting run over.
There was a trend among a niche group some time ago of kids on bicycles, scooters and such playing chicken with cars, going so far as to not move out of the way at all.
