Messi being just really not particularly good at pks is always a bit puzzling to me

It was a difficult night for Messi, and his poor recent record from the penalty spot continued while Nashville produced a superb team performance to record a memorable win.

I think it might be that his greatness comes from a combination of always being in the right place, making the right runs, dribbling around people, seeing the entire field, making inch perfect shots... pretty much everything. But when you take all of that out of the picture and just make it about kicking the ball, he can't use his other skills.
