The employees at my nearest corner store have been more or less unchanged for the ~5 years I've lived here, and I frequent the place a lot. We haven't exchanged much more than a few pleasantries, witticisms, and knowing looks over the years - but I swear I would put my life on the line for them. We have an unspoken bond.
Rivers Of Nihil and Psycroptic, the boys from Tasmania tonight.
Good thing I already bought a ticket. I probably wouldn't go if I took the 'wait and see' approach.
A late night because someone else fell asleep on the couch who really shouldn't have, and it's not like I could move them. Combined with a child meltdown I had to deal with right as my lunch was ready, has made for a very lethargic evening.
So yesterday Miss Seagoon and I were talking about our duolingo, we're on a family subscription, she brushing up her Spanish , I'm doing Latin.
I knew she studied Latin at high school, did it for 4 years, so we talked about it and how it's used in the modern day. And she spoke some and well but with a thick french accent!! She went to the lycee in Observatoire in Belgium so of course she had the accent. She laughed at my Aussie and I laughed at hers. In a nice way of course. ๐
Stick vacuums are convenient but awful to empty the dirt from. Makes a cloud of dust. I hate it. Surely technology can find a way to have bagged stick vacuums.
There is - I have one! It actually has a tower/stand that has the bag in it, you put it away on the stand and it opens the dust canister, sucks the dust into the bag and closes it again. I think you can have a robot vacuum that attaches to the same tower.
The one I have is an LG vacuum but there are other brands too.
Peer pressure for me. Heaps of my friends and housemates drank coffee so I picked it up. I've quit, but will still have a decaf from time to time for breakfast/brunch or I'll have a full strength if I have extra things to do that day.

I think the people at my corner bottle shop keep a gimp in the back. Itโs creepy as hell in there.
I have three apartments to ogle today.
A bit of leering would not be inappropriate I think.
Yawn.

Thanks! Iโm gonna look into it.
New French patisserie opened near bunnings recently. Nice coffee and tarts abound now
I was born yesterday.
Why is coffee so popular?
Is it the ritual, the taste, or the effects of caffeine?
All of the above, plus it's addictive. It's also a diuretic, so the impulse to drink more is built into your body.
Peer pressure for me. Heaps of my friends and housemates drank coffee so I picked it up. I've quit, but will still have a decaf from time to time for breakfast/brunch or I'll have a full strength if I have extra things to do that day.
I do like the taste.
It's the caffeine. That's my 2 cents.
For me it was the "jolt".
all of the above
It's nice to have a warm drink on a cold day
boiled water is safe
it's also social
