About having an "up to date" mod on the PSP

Saw this post on Reddit and it got me thinking, the #PSP being as old as it is, and its #consolemods generally being quite old too, if the mod a console has is seemingly stable and the firmware is on 6.60/6.61, it should be as up to date as it needs to be, no? Unless I suppose the user wants to run some newer homebrew or plugin that demands a certain mod, though in such cases, I'd imagine the author of the mod will leave a warning, similar to what Vita homebrew devs usually do.
