Yes, it does. You’re just not part of the people it’s supposed to benefit.
Well, GenX and (mostly Boomers) enjoyed cheap tuition, where they could cover their year with a summer job, and they gained from the increase in tuition, which fed the loan industry and now, the economy is stunted because fewer will attempt to start businesses with a glob of post-ed debt.
Those generations lived when communism still had to be broken and they had to make it work far cheaper. And like any capitalists does once the competition is bankrupted, they started price gouging everything
I really like this simply articulated take on competition.
It works perfectly, as intended. But not for us, just for them, the top 5%.
Okay, we need to have a talk with all the "the system is working exactly as intended" people.
Look, I understand that obviously it was built to benefit the 1%. But you need to understand when people say the system doesn't work, they mean the system isn't working for them. You're saying the same thing, not adding to the conversation and it kind of makes you sound asinine.
They are simply pointing out an important piece of information. "The system isn't working" inherently includes the statement "the system can be changed to work" and "the system used to work", both of which are completely untrue.
The people saying "the system is working exactly as intended" are trying to make sure that when we do finally have enough momentum to birth something new, we do that instead of trying to fruitlessly "fix" something that can never work as we need it to work, or lapse back into "just enough" people doing well to keep everyone else oppressed.
This framework, this system, will never work. It was designed by a small group that can be easily identified, to benefit a small group that can be easily identified, at the expense of literally everyone else. Any "fix" will just end up back here again. We need a new system, and it's important to state that until we get it.
This is the correct answer. People want change without knowing what to change. People think voting in a Democrat will fix the problems. It may make things better but that alone will not fix the real issues we face.
Most educated? Last i read college teachers were lamenting their students were failing basic reading, math and social skills. Yes, its still caused by the system, but this is not the most educated generation - we passed that a while back. Most connected maybe, but also the most overwhelmed by information and possibly the least equipped to deal with the deluge.
These people really need to stop complaining. It was their choice to buy a macha latte, and now they're crying they can't afford a house? Just grow up already. I'm so not feeling sorry for this dumb generation.

It is. Because there are people in the world who genuinely think what you wrote and there is no magical tool to separate these two without being given any clue.
