They're not. They are bog-standard liberals enabling fascism in the time-honoured tradition. Liberal elites don't become fascists. That's what the vilest part of the working class is for. They just fund and enable it from above to do their dirty work.

i’m not going to beg any of you to bother knowing what “neoliberal” means. i am simply no longer a lemmy user. and i realize i don’t have to announce my departure - i know you don’t care, but that is a problem, whether you agree with me or not. the culture here (all over this platform) is aggressively ignorant and it’s not harmless.
