This tire was brand new. Actually mounted it two days ago. Probably less than 10 miles on it. Running a tube so this meant more than a plug. But I had shade and daylight so it’s no big deal. Take a breather and do it right. Now if I was lucky enough to have tubeless wheels I would have plugged it and been on my way in a few minutes. But I would be very bummed at the compromised integrity of my very new tire. Plugs are great but never as good as new. You never know if they will hold permanently. Or just leak slowly. Forever. Some people suggest the tire is toast once you get home. But with the pain of replacing the tube comes the confidence that the tire is good as new. As long as you don’t pinch it, and insure there are no wires poking inside, that tire is good to go. I’ll keep my tubed wheels with no complaints. It’s definitely not a reason to pass on buying any particular motorcycle. Tubed wheels are fine.
