Warp drive machine. You get a tiny space to build on and every so many minutes you get teleported to a random new planet. Everything outside your space is left behind. Research and crafting efficiency is balanced around this.

Seablock. You refine just about everything from mud you suck up from water requiring you to build huge mud processing factories to get a trickle of metals and other stuff.

Ultra cube. Every recepie requires an ultra cube and you only have one. It does not get consumed, the crafting speed is ludicrously high, but you'll need to juggle the cube around in your factory.

Finally you Can just add a bunch of extra planets to the original space age.

It's basic but, science cost modifier. You don't have to go crazy like the 1000x playthroughs some people are doing, but a 10x, 6x, or even a 4x can vastly change how you play the game. Needing 4x the labs, 4x the production, 4x the miners; or you need to wait 4x as long; it means you spend much longer at each progression stage so you can properly experience them without trying to cobble something basic so you can skip straight to the good techs and "optimal" builds.

You need to start thinking about scale from the beginning, not just when you decide to go infinite with a mega base. If you leave other settings default then you have to start worrying about pollution a lot more, about pushing back biters more, about running out of resources more.

If you don't want to be defending from bitters 10x as much, decrease pollution to 1/10th the default, if you don't care much for resource acquisition, boost patch size and richness. That way you'll still have a 'default' experience for that particular aspect, so it won't feel "cheesy" but it won't be the focus of the run like production scale is.

There's mods that add ocean based shipping and I thought this would make for a fun challenge. Large areas covered by water where you have to make use of ocean freighting between islands for production. Maybe a bit similar to train world, but less building space should make an interesting challenge. I think they added some ocean resources as well.

Have you finished the achievements yet?

Last month Arumba was hosting a Pyanodon's Open Multiplayer Lobby but I think he's pretty much done with it now, not sure.

I combined Space Race (no purple or yellow science before a planetary science) and Keeping Your Hands Clean (No Biter Base kills without Artillery) with a 10x science cost. Almost ran out of iron before launching a space platform, had to import iron from space to keep things running. Also a Lazy Bastard run.

Doing that with Pyanodon's would be nuts, especially with the Biter Expansion changes comming in 2.1.

Finding some you can love more than factorio. Bonus: love yourself enough so others reach you with their love. Extreme: loosing your virginity.

What can I do then? Did the extreme challenge many moons ago, and also a bit bored with factorio...

Step outside the cave and let your eyes get used to the bright light of the sun. Feel the warm earth under your feet. Enjoy the details of a world where shadows are part of the complex and not everything you know. Feel your mustles move and gain strength.

When you are ready, get back into the cave and free the others.

I always enjoyed making extreme spaghetti. Leave no space, and don't like up production lines back to back.

You reached the end
