Fun fact about vindaloo, it's name comes from Portuguese (vinha d'alhos - wine/vinegar and garlic). The Portuguese colonized India and made their Indian servants cook it. When the British took control of India, the name was still there, but in classic British fashion that pronounced it without nuance and they spelled like a bunch of 6 year olds.
