Um yeah, if your band has to cancel because both your wife and kid have Covid, maybe stay home

Spiderman brand new day was really good, if you are into that sort of thing. The best tom Holland Spiderman movie IMHO. Also impressed I managed to avoid spoilers for a while week!

So, what's on for Saturday, folks? I plan to sleep, maybe shoe shop for the wedding next weekend (not mine) and eat something freaking delicious.

Gardening. Lots of gardening. So much to do as we get into Sprinter. The maggies are starting to repair their nest, and the mynahs are starting to defend territory. Going to do as many veg as I can this year, as I sorta missed out last year for various reasons.

It's been lovely outside today!! I was driving with the roof open and it was great!

We went into the city on the metro. Walked around. Went to Daiso and had hot pot train. Such a good day!

Currently heading out for an early grocery shop, then getting stoned and watching some fighting and playing games all day I reckon

Taking the Minipeelers pillow shopping. Picking up a random car numberplate I found in the train station garden for a friend of Miniest (doing rego check first!) Popping into ALDI to buy more supergreens powder (love that stuff and it helps me drink more water, which I'm really bad at). "Helping" Miniest make muffins (helping myself more like lol ๐Ÿคฐ๐Ÿป they don't really need my help at all) Tackling Mount Washmore. Helping Elder look for a new Xbox controller. May just do some of these things tomorrow and be a fat lazy bastard instead. Keeping my options open ๐Ÿฆฅ

Ooh, tell me more about this supergreens powder? I have some flavouring drops for water. Hope the muffins are delicious!!

2

It's about $4ish and therefore a lot cheaper than some others you can buy. I feel like it gives me a little energy boost (but I also mix a sachet of ginseng and ganoderma in) and it's tasty enough that I can drink it because I like it and it helps me get the water down.

Old kitty. He wasn't a very nice cat but still had to feed him.

This is an amazing photo. I feel like the kitty is either horrified by me or about to eat my soul.

Gosh I love my city. Been to a few hole in the wall bars now this arvo, and never ceases to amaze me that all these amazing places exist here.

Part of me was thinking of moving to Perth in a year, but it's hard to think about leaving my belovรฉd city behind.

Melbourne truly is a special city.

Semi successful shopping day. New foundation was acquired, as well as the tiniest, cutest perfume bottle. No luck on the shoe front, hope the bride doesn't mind me wearing sparkly sneakers.

Just took a big bag old cds to the op shop, cds i listened to once and won't play again

Just got back from VIVAMelbourne and damn, what a show. I was blown away by just the preshow. The show we went to certainly lived up to its rating and timeslot. Lets just say there's something for people of all persuasions and predilections

Oooh, is that Society and Scandal? I've seen it has free tix on promotix a lot and was curious!

3

That's the one, but I think Society only goes cheap on Promotix. I saw it come up on Ozbargain and of course Scandal is the obvious upsell

Number plate, Xbox controller, pillows and a doona, and a Jeff the Landshark mug acquired. Also managed as a bonus to exchange a tshirt I bought for one the correct size. Have done some laundry. Now recaffeinating and pondering dinner options.

Anyone been in limerance? Pathologic unhealthy love for someone. I fell into limerance for a friend ten+ years ago so had to drop the friendship for my own sake. She sent me a message yesterday saying she missed her friend and is open to reconnecting. All the feelings are still there for me. I thanked her for her kind words but asked to be left alone.

I like my new girlfriend. I think she likes me, she says she loves me, but as just discussed I have a difficult relationship with love.

I think I did the right thing but I feel sick.

1
SpinMeRoundreply
aussie.zone

Short answer, yes.

::: spoiler A Rant. I had a "friend", once upon a time, that I would do anything for. A friend that I thought was on the same "we're friends because we're both crazy" sort of way... and maybe did some drugs and messed around together sort of way. She left town and didn't tell me for two weeks and honestly, I felt like my heart had been ripped out when she finally did. I remember calling her occasionally for a year after in hopes of, IDK, wanting to talk to her and hoping she was somewhat interested in my life.

It wasn't until someone pointed out to me that "but would she do that for you" that I realised that no, she would not ditch her friends/family at 10:30pm on a weeknight to race across the city to be in a shitty place in hopes of maybe spending some time together while knowing that truly she was just using you. But I was so crazy for this "friend" that I would have stayed 3 nights in that place, dangling on that hook. :::

You did the right thing. Ask yourself - why she did reach out? Was she bored? Lonely? Had a small moment of reflection due to drink/drug/pain/outside influence?

No matter what, you don't need her interference with your life. You're making your own way forward.

5

You have it right. Love is reciprocation. Love is caring.

I remember when Miss Seagoon broke up with her previous BF, she said she knew when she went on a short holiday and felt relieved she wasn't with him. No more drama, no more being used. I was the same when I left my first husband. Sad but relieved.
