Unique emails for every service + blackhole for any time that stuff like this happens, breaches, sale of data to other entities... I've been doing this for almost a decade and it's wonderful being able to go "no u" and deal with the situation immediately.
Use filters, if you want some legitimate communication but not their bullshit, though I've only put up with that once and am no longer a customer/account for that company, so in my experience, just rip the bandage off and be done with it.
Yeah, I’ve booked flights and made sure to check / clear all the relevant checkboxes. They then dress this up as ‘important information about your flight’. If it’s that important, why is there still an ‘unsubscribe’ link???
There are a few places that have 'critical' or 'essential' account information that is just junk and promotional nonsense, and they don't even offer an unsubscibe link because 'it's information regarding your account'.
I forgot that Budget Rent-A-Car does this. Book a car, skip the $10/day this and $50/week that, get a confirmation, immediately get 'did you forget something' and every couple weeks 'make sure you have everything' that does this. There's no CS I could find so I ranted on their Twitter page, and it's 'important information' so they 'don't offer an opt-out' to 'help their customers'. Then you get to that rental counter and it's like a freaking robot on repeat, trying to upsell you the same crap, one more time...

Depending on where you live, you may have a gov't entity you can report this to that will scare them into handling it properly.
I've seen more than a couple "accidentally" broken unsubscribe processes
Slap that spam button until they get their spam scores crushed.

ah... KLM.... most hated company.
this is how you get 100% of my attention to social engineer your company into giving me the email and phone number of your executive board.
