This is the only silver lining of the rise of fascism in the US: when this cancer is finally dealt with and it's time to finally take care of the gun problem in the US, nobody will be able to invoke the 2nd amendment anymore, because the hypothetical situation that made it a valid reason to bear arms is not hypothetical anymore, and nobody is doing jack shit.

Black panthers and a few brave people did try.

Most of them got assassinated or imprisoned.

The lesson wasn't learned back then, doubt it'll be now.

Well, I'm not saying it's easy to rise up against tyranny. Hell, a few Germans tried it too and it ended badly for all of them. I'm not even saying any individual person should try, or even that it's worth trying at all.

All I'm saying is that the very premise of the 2nd Amendment has been thoroughly proven false, thereby invalidating it altogether - which opens the very real and hopeful possibility of finally disarming the stupid gun-toting American populace.

The premise of the 2nd amendment was to put down slave uprisings.

We are saying the same thing, yes.

Last time leftists tried to exercise their 2nd amendment, the state replied with COINTELPRO and got rid of them.

Monopoly of violence is only for the state and those who don't look too threatening to the state.
