I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Ram driver use a seatbelt. Perfectly content to let it ding endlessly while they complain about “liberal bullshit”

Of all the things to have a defect, that's gotta be up there. At least they are recalling, so there's that.

Edit: Then again is probably not actually that dangerous in practice as these vehicles are usually driven with just 1 person, no passengers, let alone anyone in the (affected) 2nd row.

Its not really much different safety-wise than the airbag recalls Toyota and others had. Maybe the airbag issue was worse considering it could have effected more people than this one, as you point out the recalled belts being in the second row are usually less used in trucks than something like a sedan.
