This makes me think of Love Island. Season 7 is my favorite so far, because it's by far the most wholesome season, and it's nice to see people resolving conflicts in a calm, mature, healthy manner.
It's widely regarded by the overall Love Island fandom as the worst season though, because there's not enough drama. Because people love watching things that make them unhappy I guess.
This also makes me think of The Great British Baking Show. It's a competition show, sure, so people get eliminated which is sad. But all the contestants are nice to one another, the judges are honest but not mean, it's just an all around wholesome time. Contrast that to all the other cooking competition shows out there, which are mostly adrenaline-fueled nightmares where everyone's mean to everyone else. I just don't get it man
